When I decided I wanted to pursue a career in video editing, I realized I needed an example of my work. I challenged myself to cut something fun and interesting from an old film of which I am a fan. I threw the DVD into a Premiere timeline and had a go at it. I viewed this as if it were a film school assignment. I chose all the music cues and sourced the cost of their usage, as if I were an agency editor providing a cue sheet to the music supervisor, who I also play in this exercise.
